I wrote these songs in my twenties, when the road still felt endless and every feeling felt permanent. They were shaped by beach towns, long drives, open windows, and the people who leave fingerprints on your life whether you want them to or not. I didn't know where this dream would take me yet. I only knew I couldn't stop writing.

For almost twenty years, the songs disappeared. Then one day they came back all at once. I stayed up late for months trying to keep up with them, filling notebooks with stories I'd been carrying for years. This record became the telling of those stories — twelve songs that wouldn't leave, and a thirteenth that taught me how to be done.

After The Thirteenth Song was finished, the writing didn't stop. These songs arrived quietly, carrying less weight and more wonder. They're about what comes after survival, after closure, after you've finally laid something down and find yourself looking toward the horizon again. The record is written. Its season just hasn't arrived yet.
