The Timeline

A Life in Songs

Not a discography — a journey. Three bodies of work, written across the chapters of a life that kept handing me songs.

45 South

Released in 2006 under the name Amy Hughes

Released — 2006

I wrote these songs in my twenties, when the road still felt endless and every feeling felt permanent. They were shaped by beach towns, long drives, open windows, and the people who leave fingerprints on your life whether you want them to or not. I didn't know where this dream would take me yet. I only knew I couldn't stop writing.

Chapter Two

The Thirteenth Song

Written in full

For almost twenty years, the songs disappeared. Then one day they came back all at once. I stayed up late for months trying to keep up with them, filling notebooks with stories I'd been carrying for years. This record became the telling of those stories — twelve songs that wouldn't leave, and a thirteenth that taught me how to be done.

Chapter Three

Size of the Sky

Pre-production

After The Thirteenth Song was finished, the writing didn't stop. But the songs changed. They got louder. Stranger. Freer. Some came carrying grief. Some came with their teeth out. Some arrived just to remind me there was still wonder left. Size of the Sky is what happened when I stopped asking the songs to belong to the story that came before them. Twelve have found their way here so far. The record is still becoming.
